St Sunday Crag is the high point on the NE ridge of Fairfield, which runs for 3km before descending to the valley floor in Patterdale Village. The A and both B walks will include the summit of St Sunday Crag. The walks will involve many of the adjacent fells, namely Fairfield, Dove Crag, Hart Crag, Hartsop above How and High Hartsop Dodd among others. The inclusion of any additional tops will be dependent on the walk chosen. The C’s will follow the Ullswater Way from near Pooley Bridge. Our walks all finish in Glenridding. (NY386170).
A Party: The A Walk starts from near Cow Bridge car park and heads South alongside Brothers Water to Hartsop Hall, then proceeds to climb steeply to the summit of High Hartsop Dodd continues, onto Little Hart Crag and Scandale Head where the Fairfield Horse Shoe is joined. From there the route turns North over Dove Crag then NW over Hart Crag to Fairfield 873m, then descends NE to Deepdale Hause passing over Cofa Pike on the way. The final climb of the day is to the summit of St Sunday Crag from where the descent towards Blind Cove begins then continues descending to Trough Head, taking in Arnison Crag and Oxford Crag on the way, then turns West and North to Keldas to the finish in Glenridding (NY386170).

B1 Party: The B1 Walk also starts near Cow Bridge car park and heads North towards SH157 at which point turns SW to climb steadily to the summit of Hartsop above How and then continues steeply to Hart Crag where the Fairfield Horseshoe is joined. From there the route turns NW to Fairfield 873m then descends NE to Deepdale Hause passing over Cofa Pike on the way. The final climb of the day is to the summit of St Sunday Crag from where the descent begins over Gavel Fell towards Blind Cove and continues on to Birks then finally descending steeply over Thornhow End to Grisedale Bridge and along the A592 to the finish in Glenridding (NY386170).

B2 Party: The B2 Walk also starts near Cow Bridge car park and heads South alongside Brothers Water to Hartsop Hall, then turns SW into Dovedale ascending to reach Houndshope Cove before joining the Fairfield Horseshoe. The route then turns NW over Hart Crag to Fairfield 873m, then descends NE to Deepdale Hause passing over Cofa Pike on the way. The final climb of the day is to the summit of St Sunday Crag from where the descent to Blind Cove begins and continues past Thornhow End to Grisedale Bridge and along the A592 to the finish in Glenridding (NY386170).

C party: The C Walk starts near Pooley Bridge (NY464244) on the A592 and follows the Ullswater Way in a SW direction to Shooting Lodge (NY414217) turns NW and W over Gowbarrow Fell before descending to Aira Force and rejoining the Ullswater Way which is followed to the finish in Glenridding (NY386170).
